Our Winning Entry!

After my original make up artist cancelled and I had a horrendous trial with someone else I was feeling very miserable. The only decent looking make up artist I could find so close to the date wanted £400 for hair and make up and trial! I was desperate.

Then I remembered the make up advice forum. I'd seen you give advice to so many people on Confetti and had looked at your site a couple of times but this time I did it properly. I read through all the advice on the message boards and compiled a shopping list. I then posted my shopping list and asked for comments. I received honest, helpful advice that has been priceless.

For the price I would have paid for someone to do my make up I have now had a very indulgent shopping spree (so much fun!), and have got loads of fab products which I can use again and again. My wedding make up is fab and I'm so proud of the fact that I'm doing it myself. But more than that, I feel more feminine and have more pride in my appearance.

However, none of this would be possible without you and the other fantastic artists on the forum, who freely and happily give their time, advice and expertise to people like me...making my dreams come true!

hi everyone, just thought i would say a big hellooo, i ve being addicted to this site now since before i was married in june. I log on daily to read all the topics , i m not a make-up artist yet but it is something i am deffinatley going to do as i m a make -up junkie!!! This site has given me the get up and go to do something about a passion of mine, however it is also costing me a fortune because i can t stop buying all your recommendations!!!

I would just like to say how fab all your comments are and i throughly enjoy reading them.

I absolutely LOVE the make-up forum. It was recommended on the Confetti forum and I have found it to be sooo helpful since the first time I looked at it. I have asked questions about wedding and every day make-up and the responses have been brilliant and the products are usually recommended by more than one artist which gives me great faith in buying the products and trusting them to be as good as they sound. I don’t have much knowledge about make-up and have usually bought cheap products in the past, but I have absolutely no problem buying the more expensive products when you recommend them. I also have very basic knowledge on applying make-up too, but I now feel more confident doing this with your expert advice. I now feel positive about applying my own make-up for my wedding abroad without using a lot of products, but achieving the desired effect. Your responses to the questions are quick and easy to understand, but if there is ever a delay with replying (which isn’t often at all) there is always an apology. None of the artists ever advertise themselves which can sometimes make people feel uncomfortable, but if I ever needed one this would be the first place I would come. I have recommended this website to many people and I have been able to recommend products that you have recommended to me and they have been grateful of the advice.

Looking forward to receiving more make-up advice very soon.
